Travel the Aitkin area and create a historic adventure on the Mississippi Crossings from Grand Rapids to Little Falls following the Great River Roadways. The Mississippi Crossings is named for its history as a crossway of transportation by river, by rail, and by road. The voyagers, fur traders, and loggers have traveled these crossways-and today vacationers follow the heritage. The river was the main highway for the Native people of Minnesota, followed by the fur traders and the loggers. Today, many of the 25 steamboat landings still are water access and established camping sites.

An inviting interactive art center featuring rotating exhibits of original art from around the world in its Kellar Gallery. A permanent collection of paintings by Francis Lee Jaques, artist naturalist (1887-1969) hangs in the Jaques Gallery. Scheduled workshops and annual creative arts activities. Gift shop featuring Minnesota artists. Venue: Former Carnegie Library

Cuyuna Rolling Hills is a mature, par 72 championship caliber golf course located in central Minnesota. The front nine features rolling terrain, generous fairways, playable rough, and well manicured greens. The scenic back nine rises above the surrounding lakes and offers great views of the course. For the more experienced golfer, the course offers a challenging design, while recent course change, like forward tees, offers the occasional golfer an enjoyable outing too. Competitive prices and a high quality, open to the public, venue means an exceptional golfing experience.

Held in August at the Aitkin County Fairgrounds. Since 1891. A celebration for those near and far that showcases all that the county has to offer. Plenty of things to do and see for young and old such as children's activities, entertainment, food and merchandise vendors, livestock and agriculture competitions, midway rides and much, much more.

The fish house parade is held the Friday after Thanksgiving and has had up to 60 entries in a single parade! Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, and possibly a snowmobile suit and grab a spot along the curb on main-street. The community also invites Santa and Mrs. Claus for the youngsters, provides wonderful food, great shopping throughout Aitkin, prize drawings, lively music, and even a fish house story contests. Many of these stories get better the more they're told...kind of like the stories told by anglers. Aitkin's annual Fish House Parade has created media attention world-wide. Wacky floats, dressed-up ice fishing houses and celebrity guests all make this world-famous event a must-see annual event. The past parades have gained attention from USA Today, HGTV, Voice of America, and Aqua magazine, as well as many Minnesota publications and newspapers.

AHCC provides short-term rehabilitation, recovery stays and long-term inpatient care. Our adjoining Aitkin Area Rehab Center specializes in inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies

The new Riverwood Healthcare Center project is a critical access hospital which provides an array of services and procedures for Aitkin County and the surrounding area.

Doc's Harbor is a lake front RV resort just two & a half hours north of the Twin Cities. We offer RV camping, private boat launch, protected harbor slips, & boat storage. Many of the RV sites are right on Lake Mille Lacs & all of the sites are within 250 feet of the water.

Brand new, state of the art RV park, complete with 20/30/50 amp electrical service, internet, and cable TV.  Every one of the 49 sites have "full hookups", which for you less experienced campers, means water, sewer, and electric.

The Ripple River RV Park is located next to the Ripple River Motel in a charming and tranquil river setting surrounded by tall oak and pine trees. You can sit by the campfire or walk along the river and listen to the sounds of rippling water. There are nineteen sites available. Fifteen sites have 120 volt 30 amp, 220 volt 50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer available. Four additional sites have electrical service and water available.
