LOMAN, a residential community located in T. 158N, R. 25W (Watrous), section 11, was named for the George and Mary Loman family, homesteaders who came from Canada in 1889 and opened the first post office in their home in 1901, with Jennie R. Mourhess, postmaster; it had a station on the Minnesota, Dakota and Western Railway.
